Everything You Need To Know About Hair System Care Pt. 2

Last time we looked at three common ways hair systems can get messed up and how you can fix them. In this article we continue the topic. Let’s get started.

In part one of this two part series, we looked at three reasons your hair system’s life span could be shortened and what you can do about it. In this, part two, we will add a further few reasons and elaborate on some of our previous points as well.

  1. Summertime Woes

In our last post we talked about the banes of wearing a toupee in  a hot or moist climate. The accompanying sweat can make your hair system smell bad and washing it too often can lead to damage. However, not washing it and letting sweat and oil accumulate will lead to even greater damage, so it’s best to wash it about once every two to three weeks for the best results. Also, if you are out in the sun a lot, you might consider wearing a hat as the sun itself and bleach the hair or cause other kinds of harm to the follicles.

  1. So When You Have To Wash And Reapply Your Toupee, How Should You Do It?

What follows is a step by step guide for washing your hair system in the best way possible.

  1. First, spray the toupee with C22 to break down the bonds of the glue and make it easier to clean off.
  2. Wash your hair and scalp thoroughly, and dry your head until all the moisture is gone.
  3. Wash your toupee with a gentle hand and in the same direction. Use a light amount of soap.
  4. Apply tape or glue to the edge of the toupee.
  5. You can now put the toupee on your head by starting from the front and rolling it back
  6. Lastly, dry your hair system lightly with a towel, and you are ready to go.

  1. A Shedding Hair System

As we’ve said before, a good quality hair system is an investment of both time and money. As such, you would be right to worry if you see your toupee shedding copious amounts of hair. So, is any amount of shedding normal, and how what could be the causes of excessive shedding?

Well first of all, some shedding is normal after you have received your hair system since it has been in transit for a while. Giving it a good gentle brush to clear off the straggling hairs usually does the trick.

However, if you hair system is consistently losing large amounts of hair, leaving you with a sparse headed system then you may have one of two problems. The first problem could be a problem with the maintenance or care of the hair system. If you are an active person, sweat a lot, sleep with your toupee on, swim, or use products and sprays on your toupee then there is going to be some stress on the system that could result in hair loss. Other than that, the only other issue would be with the quality of the hair system itself, or method of tying in the hair follicles as some hair system wear out faster than others.

That, in a nutshell, covers almost everything you nee to know about caring for your new toupee or any you may purchase in the future. As always, the most important thing is to find a way to care for your hair system in a sustainable way, so that it lasts as long as possible. Also, It is always advisable to check the supplier, methodolgy, and reviews of any hair system before purchasing, and as always, happy hair hunting.
